The Lion never took his eyes off the little girl...but he patiently waited...not moving...he wondered how long this new game of hide would last...maybe he should go and leave her alone...she did look afraid of him...the Lion yawned and laying his head back down closed his eyes...give her time he thought...take another nap...either she will leave...or decide I am not going to hurt her...
The Little girl watched from behind her shadow...the Lion was sleeping again...he wasn't going to come after her...she could leave right now if she wanted to...but she didn't know which way to go and she didn't wnat to be alone again...he had been so warm when she had been laying next to him...it was getting colder now...slowly the little girl came out from behind her shadow...

she slowly edged her way closer to the Lion...she sat down by him...then slowly snuggled up to him...he was so warm...the little girl started stroking the Lion's fur...he started to purr...what a strange sound he makes thought the little girl...
The lion opened his eyes slowly and looked at the little girl...who are you he asked gently...
Just a lost little girl she replied...who are you...
A lonely Lion he said...have you seen any other Lions around...
No I haven't and I am sure glad of that...I would have been terrified...
The Lion chuckled...and I would have been afraid if you had been with others...
I ran away from home to find a friend, but I got lost and afraid...I don't know how to get home...
You are probably from the village at the edge of the forest...I can show you the way...
Thank you...I want to go home...I don't like it here in the forest...
So off they went to the edge of the forest...
Soon the Little girl saw the trees grow less dense and then saw the buildings in the distance...
Yes, she cried...that is where I live...Thank you Lion and giving him a big hug...off she ran back home...
The Lion went back into the forest...still alone...and the Little girl went back home...still alone and wanting a friend...
Neither one of them ever stopped to think that they could have been friends with each other...they were too different...from two different worlds...
Like so many people in this world...love will pass them by...friends won't be found...all because most put too many restrictions on what they want...who they want to be with...so many lost and alone and they won't put out the effort...won't take a chance...easier to stay where they are...live the life they have...
Take a chance on life...on love...friendship...find someone different than you...someone who lives somewhere else...anything...anything is possible if you just give it a chance...it might be hard...but it will be worth it in the end...believe...trust...have faith...in life...in love...
