I've been searching for something to lift my mood tonight...after a long hard day I really need to feel better...I found the following:
To never give up can be defined as one’s ability to not at any time, even in times of supreme difficulty, to stop going. An attitude that enables someone to never give up is an attitude that we should all seek to have. To never give up means to look failure in the eye and tell it that you are coming for a rematch and that you will not settle until you win. To never give up is to be smart, to gain as much knowledge as possible about yourself, and about life, and to be confident enough to use this wisdom in order to achieve the things in your heart in which you are passionate about. To never give up sometimes means that a man’s ego and pride must be put aside in order to keep moving forward. To never give up is a hard thing to do, it is very easy to say, but in order to be able to put this in action, one must be willing to risk losing everything.
I've risked so much in my life lately...hasn't gotten me what I want...but I haven't given up either... :)
"Live every moment, laugh every day, love beyond words."
In each moment we should make an attempt to make the best out of it, whether it be a situation that is already positive, or whether it be a situation that we need to help spin in a positive light. Live every moment, and remember that eventually the future will be the present.
Take time out to laugh each day, laughter is not only food for the soul, but it also helps to heal the soul in parts it may be broken.
And Love.
Love with everything inside of you. Love because love is the center of life. Our souls are filled with love, so be sure to thoroughly love whatever may be in our hearts. Love the people around you. Love your friends. Love your enemies. Love the memories you are able to make. Most of all make sure you will love the legacy you leave behind on earth.
"The heart that has truly loved never forgets."
When someone has truly loved something or someone it is nearly impossible for a person to forget. True love is like a bright flame because even though it may burn bright, it will also leave a bigger scar. True love is a love that can never be forgotten because it is a love that never truly ends.
It is almost impossible to fall out of love, because once love's fire is able to burn inside of you, it becomes a part of you. No matter what we may feel or think we believe about a person who presently has our heart, chances are if you were in true love with someone before, a small piece of you will always be with them. The heart that has truly loved never forgets, it just continues to paddle forward in the stream of new love, hoping to eventually meet up with its true love once again.
Don't we always have regrets? Wish we had another chance when we lose someone we love? and then I found this last article...
Top five regrets of the dying
There was no mention of more sex or bungee jumps. A palliative nurse who has counselled the dying in their last days has revealed the most common regrets we have at the end of our lives. And among the top, from men in particular, is 'I wish I hadn't worked so hard'.
Bronnie Ware is an Australian nurse who spent several years working in palliative care, caring for patients in the last 12 weeks of their lives. She recorded their dying epiphanies in a blog called
Inspiration and Chai, which gathered so much attention that she put her observations into a book called The Top Five Regrets of the Dying.
Ware writes of the phenomenal clarity of vision that people gain at the end of their lives, and how we might learn from their wisdom. "When questioned about any regrets they had or anything they would do differently," she says, "common themes surfaced again and again."
Here are the top five regrets of the dying, as witnessed by Ware:
1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
"This was the most common regret of all. When people realise that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people had not honoured even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made. Health brings a freedom very few realise, until they no longer have it."
2. I wish I hadn't worked so hard.
"This came from every male patient that I nursed. They missed their children's youth and their partner's companionship. Women also spoke of this regret, but as most were from an older generation, many of the female patients had not been breadwinners. All of the men I nursed deeply regretted spending so much of their lives on the treadmill of a work existence."
3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.
"Many people suppressed their feelings in order to keep peace with others. As a result, they settled for a mediocre existence and never became who they were truly capable of becoming. Many developed illnesses relating to the bitterness and resentment they carried as a result."
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
"Often they would not truly realise the full benefits of old friends until their dying weeks and it was not always possible to track them down. Many had become so caught up in their own lives that they had let golden friendships slip by over the years. There were many deep regrets about not giving friendships the time and effort that they deserved. Everyone misses their friends when they are dying."
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
"This is a surprisingly common one. Many did not realise until the end that happiness is a choice. They had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called 'comfort' of familiarity overflowed into their emotions, as well as their physical lives. Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to their selves, that they were content, when deep within, they longed to laugh properly and have silliness in their life again."
What's your greatest regret so far, and what will you set out to achieve or change before you die?
Yes, Lion I am asking you this....only because I care what happens to you...care and hope you are happy with life and love...but I don't feel you are...you need and want more...don't let life and love pass you by...you are working too hard...loving not enough...missing what you lost...
So I ask you again...
What's your greatest regret so far, and what will you set out to achieve or change before you die?
