The princess woke to the sound of a fierce roar...the Lion....the princess shakes....frightened of her beloved Lion....why is he so angry she wonders....
Again, the Lion roars...the wind howls along with the sound and storm clouds gather...Lightening lights up the sky...thunder explodes with a roar....and the Lion growls at the princess...the wind tears at her...snow whips through the air...the princess screams....she is so frightened of this raging storm...
but she knows it is up to her to calm the Lion before it wreaks more damage...
Now, calm down Lion...the princess soothes the Lion with her voice....hands reach out to stroke him....draining all the built up tension from months of holding it in....it's okay she coos....it will be alright...now that you have contacted me we can figure it all out and make things right...
I am so tired the Lion sighs...I've held back so much lately and now I just want to explode...too many memories of past seasons and the promise they held...
Spring will soon be here and you can rest then the princess tells the Lion...its your busiest season now...I know its been long and hard...but its almost over...soon you can rest and let others take over the bulk of the work...lambs will play in the grass and you can sit in the shade and watch...
You make it all sound so easy sighs the Lion...I've blustered here enough for now...I'd better move on...make my presence known elsewhere....I don't want anyone to think I'm only here for you...he laughs...
No, you wouldn't want them to get the wrong idea the princess smiles...give it time...let life play out and soon you can come back to stay....fix what you need to and I'll do the same....
and with one last breathtaking....heart stopping....loving look...the Lion laughs...turns and runs back to his den...
The princess watches him leave with mixed feelings...she is glad the storm has passed, but will miss the excitement...the aliveness it brought to her heart...
Till we meet again, dear Lion she whispers...and the wind carries her heart on a path yet to be...
March has roared in like a Lion...will it end with a whimper...or will the Lion roar some more...
