Sam and the Wizard

The next morning the princess wakes to the sound of voices outside...she gets up and wanders out to see who is talking...the Wizard is sitting in the shade chatting with Sam...
Come over here and sit with us baby girl....I have finally met one of your friends...Sam...
Hi princess....the Wizard was just telling me of some of his adventures...sounds like he has been in quite a few of them....has he shared any with you?
Some....but I suspect he doesn't tell all, laughs the princess...what is he telling you about?
Several things...about his fight with the Dragons....how he captured one and mastered it....it became his companion for awhile while he was fighting some bad entities....
And where is this dragon now, Wizard, wonders the princess...
He is off sleeping...like bears they hibernate...but for a much longer time....soon he will awaken and come here...maybe I'll take you for a ride teases the Wizard....
If he is friendly I would love it replies the princess....but if he is grumpy and mean I will send you both off, laughs the princess....
Let's change the subject...tell me about yourself, Sam....
Not much to tell I'm afraid...I'm just a simple guy...in love with my Dottie Dot....you'll meet her next time Wizard...she just got back from a trip...she had some things to do this morning...not much else to say...I've lived here in the forest my whole life...I only know of the outside world from reading and tales from others...we live a simple life here...I like it that way...
Something tells me there is a lot more to you Sam, than you are letting on...I'll figure you out in time...you can bet on that...
And I think you hide some of yourself too, Wizard...so I guess we are even...only fools let themselves be known by strangers...it takes time and trust to let the doors open...

I think it's going to take a long time to let those doors open Sam....even the princess doesn't trust me yet...although I do her...
Maybe you have given her good reason not to trust Wizard....
True...and also she has been hurt before...so it will take time to gain her trust...I am trying to...

Hey, you two...I'm standing right here and you're talking like I'm not...I'm not sure I trust either one of you right now...and for good reasons...you've both not been completely truthful with me...still hiding things about yourselves...who you really are and why you are here...

I think we made her mad....Sam...
She has been mad at me for awhile...and you too from what I've heard...there are some things the princess will have to figure out for herself...we can gently show her the way, but in the end she must decide for herself...I've got to get back to Dottie Dot...it was good to meet you Wizard...I think we might make a good team...
