My Dad...I drew this pic when I was in 9th grade...a very long time ago...he was always an enigma to me...He was a very private man...very quiet...he worked hard and long ...worked for the City where I grew up...Grand Junction, Colorado...he worked for the Tree Department and then the Water Department...I remember him being called out to fix broken lines...sometimes I would want him to come home on a Saturday so we could go to town....I would go out into the vacant yard next to the house and yell for him to come home...soon he would drive in the driveway...or so it seemed to me that it always worked...and we would get our trip to town...
Saturday memories include shopping trips...second hand stores...auctions....donuts from the bakery...some weekends we would go for rides...all over the valley...just exploring...sometimes up on Grand Mesa...the pines...the lakes...and every so often long trips...to see my aunts and uncles...cousins...a couple of days to Colorado Springs or longer trips to Oregon....loved going to Oregon to Sis and Earl's...they lived in the forest...so many adventures there...so many memories...
My parents were married over 60 years....
a long...good marraige...they were always together...a love strong and pure...I envy that...they didn't have many friends...they didn't party...didn't go out much except with family...but they had each other...and their family...
My kids love them so much...it's going to be empty without him...so many things left unsaid...you always think you'll have tomorrow..plenty of time to say you love them...to visit...to just hang out...
But life had other plans....

I love you Dad...I miss you...wish I had spent more time with you...talked and listened more...told you I loved you more...
Rest in Peace Dad...
We love you...
