Always

The man stood tall before Red....she could see the toll the last few years had taken...but it was nothing compared to the devastation that occurred to herself...she had become old and weak...her power all but gone...she used all but a drop of what was left and the old skin fell in shreds and before Wolf stood the woman he remembered...he gasped and reached out for her...Red reached for him...but the years held strong and their arms dropped short of their want..sighing they stood and looked into one another's eyes...seeing things there no other ever dared...
Why did you come Red? after all this time...you haunt my dreams...my every waking thought is of you...
I had to come...see you one more time before this body turns to dust...
No, Red...nothing must happen to you...I would die...let me have a taste...change you...like me you can live forever....together we can run with the wind and hunt the shadows...
Wolf she waits for you...you are hers, not mine...go live your life...the one you chose...let me crumble in to the depths...
Red...it was a mistake...it's all been wrong from the first...I traveled the wrong path...Please, Red..it's you...not her...Always you...
and it will always be you Wolf...but alas...it was never meant to be...she owns you...you'll never be free...the choice you made...she controls your life...I've watched in the shadows...I've seen much...she has her whip...digs in her heals and makes her mark...one misstep and those honey lips will drip with your blood Wolf...
No one owns me...not her....no one Red...
Are you sure about that, Wolf? for all your howling and hunting...roaming at night while she sleeps...in the end you go home to her...turn from this proud Wolf into what? an obedient puppy who does what is expected...if she ever saw the real you...the Wolf...What then?
Wolf growled...he took a step closer to Red...stopped...his eyes glowed red...he rose up proud...the Wolf he was...
No one owns me Red...I am Wolf...
Red sighed...Go home Wolf...and she turned to walk away...
